Early voting Empty Early voting

Well folks, we, here in Oregon, got our mail-in ballots yesterday. I think I am the first one to send theirs back. I'm not one of those "undecided" voters we hear about. so, now that I've cast my vote, I can listen and sit back and watch the talking heads babble on. I'm not a single-issue voter nor do I pay attention to the bumper sticker IQ of some people. What I am looking forward to, is the legislative branch of our government. That's were either progress or stagnation happens. Given that their collective rating is somewhere around 7%, those boys and girls have a lot to address. My only concern is that if this election is going to be contested in several key states and we have another president appointed by the Supreme Court. That will be the end of Democracy. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Now, go out and vote, remember, vote early and vote often.

We got ours a few days ago. I spent much of yesterday trying to find out about the judges who are up for being retained or not. Jeesh, I read some of the lawsuits legaleze trying to figure out stuff, then their reviews from other lawyers etc. Don't know if I made the right decisions on them but I give myself A for effort. And yeah, I think there will be several contested unless it's a landslide for one of them; but I think it's gonna be close. Did I ever mention I HATE POLITICS. affraid I also hate political ads and the fact theres one every 30 seconds. No

I was looking at Real Clear polling data and if it is accurate there will be virtually no change in the House and Senate.

In regards to polls, I take great joy in squing the data by giving off the wall answers. Especally when they ask "on a scale of 1-10 what of the following issues are more important to you." I've had many poll takers just hang up on me. As someone who worked with polling data collection, it's all depends how you ask the question.

I've never been called.........but I probably wouldn't answer my cell if I didn't recognize the number.

I get called all the time and I do mean all the time. I am classified as "undecided" and that is a real target group. I also have no intention of voting for either the current failed president or the potentially future failed president. To use an old MIS term it could be - garbage in and garbage out. JMO.

But polls have really improved their accuracy over the years since many polls use their track record in other ancillary business ventures that require public opinion on new products, old products or consumer trends. The company that can be relied on with a proven track record can then go forth and make some real money.

Ahhh, yes, that's the prime motivation. Love may make the world go 'round; but, money greases the wheels. It may be that Democracy goes to the highest bidder. Suspect

Companies do public polls and internal polls for candidates and those that are most successful get return visits and build a reputation for both the visible (public) and the less visible (internal). The internal polls are what really drives a campaign and are tied into the strategist.

The companies that do it also build a rep for those interested in using their services in the DPS (Dreaded Private Sector). Polls that are conducted by universities usually have a sponsor(s) so it is a money making proposition even for the not for profits.

There is always a "Profit-motive". Being "Non-profit" is simply a book keeping method which applies the loop-holes in the Tax system. There is no such thing as an "Intrinsic" value when coming to politics. That's like asking a person to be "Good for nothing." It's all how one interprets the message.
