The 4 legs of politics
I'm going to bore, or share, with you a general misconception currently being held by many people. It is about the statement by the Republican candidate for Prez. "The President's 'Policies' have failed". In our form of government, there are four legs that hold up the table. The First leg; the President (whoever that may be) puts forth a policy that is directed towards solving a problem. He presents this to his party's leadership in the legislative branch (Senate/House). The Second leg is the procedure of writing a bill that is presented, debated and either passed or fails. If the Bill passes, it is sent to the President who will either sign it into law or veto it. In the event he signs it into law, you now have the third leg: law (rules) established. The fourth and final leg is in the regulations regarding the application of the law within our society. Simply put, the four legs (Rules, Regulations, Policies, and Proceedures) are now in place. Getting back to the current mantra of the Republican party, we can see that the President's policies have not failed since the legislative branch failed to act on those policies by adopting, debating, or passing any such "policy" into law. It is the legislative branch of our government that has failed to act and the onus falls on them, not the President. If any one of the four legs fails; government fails and the table of stability (social and political) collapses.

That's why their approval rating is in the toilet. I wish they'd make it so every bill has to come up for a vote and not have the senate leader decide not to put it up for a vote; also no earmarks.

Sadly, both parties are responsible for our current situation.

I have come to the firm conclusion that the definition of a Political Party is a room full of strippers and a bottle of Jack.

"Government workers" is called an oxymoron. Remember; "I'm from the government and I'm here to help." I think it was Ronald Reagan. who said it. And look what happened since then!
